For all Troop 82 Scouts and Parents:
Our Troop is now using the BSA-owned scout tracking system, SCOUTBOOK
We use this system to monitor scout rank advancement, merit badges, contact information, e-mail addresses, troop activities, and other scout info. The website is intuitive and works quite well on your mobile phone or desktop computer.
Parents can always be assured their scout's advancement data is current in the system, however none of the detailed requirements for ranks of First Class or below will be maintained in Scoutbook. All advancement data is managed by the scout and his Scoutmaster in the Scout Handbook, and important milestones are updated in the system by our troop Data Team. Please be aware that BSA designed Scoutbook in a way that allows parents to request approval of ranks and merit badges, however Troop 82 chooses not to use this feature. Parents, please do not update information in Scoutbook for your scout. This is an opportunity for him to learn how to advocate for himself.
New Parents: you should have received email inviting you to login to ScoutBook and providing you a Username. This will be the same Username that you can use to login to BSA's my.Scouting.org website. See your junk email folder in case your email application placed it there. If not, please send an email to troop82@hptroop82.org and we will take care of it. If you believe you've already set up your account, and don't remember your login information, don't hesitate to send us an email.
Note to all parents: Your e-mail address AND cell phone number entered in your scout's record will be the main sources of communication from the troop. Please click on "My Dashboard" and then click on your scout's name to review the "Parents" records and click on "Edit Profile" if you need to change data.
Please do not ignore the system when it prompts for Cell Provider" after entering your Mobile Phone (e.g. AT&T, Verizon, etc) so that you will receive important text messages from the Troop!
